Services for Young Adults 17-24

Wayside provides supportive living and outreach programs for young adults managing mental health challenges and obstacles such as homelessness, substance abuse and lack of family connections. Young adults will work with a multidisciplinary team of dedicate staff and receive a wide range of services designed to promote self-sufficiency that will assist with attaining goals in education, employment, and supportive relationships. Services are delivered by a multi-disciplinary team and include transitional housing, group and independent living, respite care, clinical services, and case management.

Supported living in Framingham, Arlington, and Methuen

These programs provide a continuum of care ranging from 24-hour group living environments and supported apartments to community outreach. Each site provides group living in a home environment with staff on site and independent living apartments with daily staff support. The Arlington and Methuen programs also provide community outreach to young adults living in the Northeast area as well as outside of Boston. Young adults of all genders are welcome and must be involved and referred by the Department of Mental Health (DMH).

Supported living in Somerville and Waltham

These programs are for young adults receiving services through the Department of Children & Families (DCF) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Both programs provide safe and supportive living for young adults who are working on developing life skills to become more independent. The programs provide 24-hour group living environments as well as supported apartments in the community. The Waltham program, Waverley Oaks provides services for male identifying young adults. The Sommerville Program, ShortStop, provides services for young adults of all genders.
