One Anti-Racist Action You Can Take Today: Support and Learn From Black Academics and Activists

By Taiany Goulart
Medford Program Director

Today’s anti-racist action comes from Medford Program Director, Taiany Goulart. Taiany is following the work of Rachel Cargle, a Black author, academic, speaker and activist known for her anti-racism work. Cargle’s #DoTheWork course is a self-paced 30 day call to action for those who seek to be allies to Black women. She also created a course called The Great Unlearn and has info on her Patreon page at https://www.patreon.com/m/thegreatunlearn. Cargle founded The Loveland Foundation which increases access to therapy for Black women and girls.

In addition to Rachel Cargle, here is a list of 20 other Black academics who you should follow. Black academics and activists have been researching systemic racism and how to undo it for over 100 years. By following, amplifying, learning from, and financially supporting Black academics and activists you expand their impact and ability to continue their work.
