WAYLAND — The Wayland-based Parmenter Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to continue its support of the innovative Behavioral Health Partners MetroWest located in Framingham.
The organization opened in 2017 as a new initiative comprised of partners from four leading social service and behavioral health agencies, including Advocates, South Middlesex Opportunity Council, Spectrum Health Systems and Wayside Youth & Family Support Network.
BHPMW leverages the existing expertise of MetroWest behavioral and social service agencies to provide individuals, families and health care providers with a single point of entry for a broad range of mental health services. The goal of BHPMW is to provide MetroWest residents, health care professionals and other service providers streamlined access to expertise in the areas of mental health, substance use and addiction, housing and social support for people of all ages.
In its first two years of service, the BHPMW has served over 1,300 callers, 70% of whom were seeking mental health services for adolescents.
Initially, the care coordinators match individuals to the appropriate services provided by the partner agencies and other community resources. They also follow up to remind clients about their appointments, make sure the client is comfortable with his/her referral and continue to follow up throughout the spectrum of care.

“We are committed to providing sustained support in the area of mental health, substance use and addiction, and more,” said Amy Paquette, executive director of The Parmenter Foundation. “We are very proud of this program as it has proven to be successful, important and relevant. If we can help make it easier for individuals to connect with resources they need in times of crisis, and help them be stronger moving forward, we will continue to do so.“
The Parmenter Foundation serves MetroWest residents affected by serious illness, end of life or hardship to build strength and resiliency in times of crisis and for the future. They do so by identifying, funding and partnering with nonprofits that deliver coping solutions to impact lives for the long term. The Parmenter Foundation relies solely on private funding to carry out its mission. For information, visit http://parmenterfoundation.org.
