Wayside Youth Family Support Network Awarded $10,000 Grant from Foundation for MetroWest

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Wayside Youth & Family Support Network recently received a $10,000 grant from the Foundation for MetroWest. Wayside will use the grant to continue its data collection and measurement project and increase its in-house capacity to customize data.

Wayside installed a new Electronic Medical Records (EMR) last year and is training staff to create and utilize reports that gives the human service nonprofit the ability to measure outcomes and client progress using technology, evaluation and reporting.

“We are thrilled to support Wayside’s work as they focus on providing high quality support services to residents across MetroWest,” said Caroline Murphy, director of programs at Foundation for MetroWest. “We are encouraged by their interest in utilizing data not only to make sure everyone in our communities is receiving the care they need, but also to strengthen their organization. It’s a win-win!”

“We are thankful to Foundation for MetroWest for supporting our efforts to utilize technology and gain insight by analyzing data about our service delivery and satisfaction of the youth and families we serve,” said Eric Masi, chief executive officer of Wayside. “We are able to track treatment progress and produce accurate reports that aid us in decision-making about the service types that clients benefit from most.”

Wayside’s EMR software collects important information about its population, such as age, diagnosis, length of service, program site and clinician. In addition to using the software to capture outcomes data, Wayside will explore ways to better obtain feedback from clients and families who receive services in real time.

This funding will enhance our in-house capacity to analyze the data we already collect from our EMR to better sustain our work and fulfill our mission, said Betsy Reid, the vice president of clinical quality and young adult services who is overseeing the implementation of the EMR project. Data is extremely valuable as we continue to look for ways to gain insight into best practices, elevate our work and articulate our successes.”
