Wayside Youth & Family Support Receives $24,900 Grant From the Sudbury Foundation
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Wayside Youth & Family Support Network announced today that it received a $24,900 grant from the Sudbury Foundation to continue to implement software that allows the human services non–profit to improve service outcome results and track client progress.
The grant will allow Wayside to enhance its in-house capacity to measure and analyze data it is already collecting from its Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software installed last year. Staff will be trained to create and run custom reports that will lead to a better understanding of the youth and families we serve.
“Capturing and analyzing our own data about the youth and families we serve is essential to improving our services and outcomes,” said Wayside’s CEO, Eric Masi. “Without vigorous outcomes measurement, we cannot make necessary course corrections to our programs as conditions change. Nor can we make the case for public and private funding without being able to show how we positively changes the lives of the youth we serve.”
Wayside’s EMR collects important information about its population, such as age, diagnosis, length of service, program site and clinician. In addition to using the software to capture outcomes data, Wayside will explore ways to better obtain feedback from clients and families who receive our services including in “real time.”
“We are grateful to the Sudbury Foundation for recognizing the importance of generating internal data that is accurate, timely and without the need to rely on a third-party source,” said Vice President of Campus Services, Sara McCabe.
