Support Wayside’s Emergency Food Relief Efforts
As of November 1, SNAP benefits—the federal program that helps more than one million Massachusetts residents afford food—will be suspended due to the government shutdown. That’s 16% of our state’s population suddenly losing vital monthly assistance to purchase groceries. The impact will be immediate and severe: families forced to skip meals, local grocery stores facing financial strain, and food costs rising as supply chains falter.
Food banks cannot bridge this gap alone. For every one meal they provide, SNAP provided nine. To help meet this urgent need, Wayside is doing our part to support families and young people in our community by collecting donations to purchase grocery gift cards for those most affected. Your contribution today will help provide relief to neighbors who are struggling to afford food during this difficult time.
